The ID-51E is compact, measuring only 58 × 105.4 × 26.4 mm and weighing only (approx.) 255g, including battery and antenna. From this slim housing, the ID-51E gives 5W output power, operates on VHF / UHF dual band, also has D-STAR and an integrated GPS receiver. The radio has a 2.3 inch (320 × 280 pixels) colored screen that provides excellent visibility. The screen background can be set to black or white.

Bluetooth® Features
The external VS-3 Bluetooth® headset enables hands-free wireless operation. In addition to the PTT and volume/down buttons, the VS-3 has enabled three programmable buttons to enhance operation.
You can connect to a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth®. The remote control software, RS-MS1A for Android™ or RS-MS1I for iOS™, can wirelessly control the ID-52E to change operating frequencies and other settings.

The display shows not only the existing Signals, but also the changes of the signal level in chronological order. You get an overview of the band conditions, including currently used frequencies. The bandscope mode can be selected from center mode, fixed mode and fixed scroll mode.

V/V,U/U,V/U Dualwatch including DV/DV mode:
The Dualwatch function monitors the VHF/VHF, UHF/UHF and VHF/UHF -ties*. You can quickly respond to a call from the Main and Subband. Two DV signals can be decoded. *AM/AM mode Dualwatch is not possible. AM signals can only be received on the Main VFO (A-band).

microSD card
You can use QSO recording, voice recordings, images, QSOs, GPS -store log data, firmware upgrades, repeater lists and other personal settings to a microSD card (up to 32 GB). This can then be extended to the ID-52E radio.

Micro-USB connector:
The ID-52E has a multifunctional USB port and a USB host function, for charging the Icom battery packs, PC programming, read/write content to the microSD card, support for Terminal/Access Point mode and CI -V both control and audio.

IPX7 Rugged Construction:
IPX7 waterproofing and rugged construction make the ID-52E ideal for use in harsh environments.
